1 Bell pepper, chopped
1/3cGrated carrot
1tbMinced onion
3tbBacon drippings
2tbAll purpose flour
3/4cChicken broth
1/2cTomato soup, undiluted
1cChopped celery
1/2tsSalt
1/4tsBlack pepper
1/8tsRed pepper

Saute' green bell pepper, carrrot, and onion in bacon drippings until tender; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth and tomato soup; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Yields 2 cups.
